Donna Dee (aka Elfie) the prolific DJ and producer is also known as B-Girl Elfie with her own female dance crew, (see media section for video clips/photos).  She is also the brainchild and promoter behind Throwdown, London’s number 1 B-Boy & Hip Hop events organisation, www.throwdown.co.uk, and is also a member of female B-girl (break-dance) crew ‘witness the sickness’. A hardworking DJ of 12 years, she is a competent scratching and mixing DJ and her sets are mainly Funk and Hip Hop but she has a diverse knowledge of all dance music, regularly booked for her breakbeat sets, she has a long history of production with both ILs and Deekline and supports the latest projects from both these camps in her sets. She has DJ’d all over the globe including 3 European tours in the last 2 years including a tour of eastern Europe with deekline and the Ragga Twins in autumn last year. She has had over 30 EPs released to date and was behind the classic Garage/Breaks album Spellbound in 1998.  She has co-written and co-produced some great tracks with other artists and is the lady behind many great dance tracks including co producing the top 10 hit, ‘I don’t smoke’ Donna is a multi-instrumentalist who plays guitar, piano and sings many of her own productions with her main strengths being writing strong melodies and songs and bringing out the best in the artists she works with; Check out Donna’s latest project, a 10 track album under the name ELFIE of cutting edge funky but chilled tracks, in the vein of Morcheeba/Moby (see media section). In the last 6 months also co wrote the Ils single ‘angels’ with writing partners Desi and Roni which was released in November and also the new TV show C.B.I’s new theme tune, she also wrote the beautiful breakbeat ballad ‘LURVIN U’ which was remixed by ILS for his single release in March 2006, which has remixes from Santos/atomic hooligan and vicious circle. She engineers and programs all her own productions and has also programmed for many artists over the last ten years. She still finds time to mentor and do DJ/dancing and production workshops with kids, as passing on your skills she believes is one of the most important things you can do, she never misses an opportunity to enter a battle herself, to make sure she is still improving, she is a motivated lady with plenty of skills and has achieved a lot, there’s a lot more to come in 2006 so watch this space!”
