Desy

The gem stone of Breaktrue.org Desy is not only the most demanded female Dj in Bulgaria but also a talented singer, songwriter and producer.
Desy started her musical career in the early 90’s as one of the lead vocalists in a band called “Scam”. A bit later on she discovered her passion for dj’ing and began rocking dance floors in the underground scene. After gaining experience in performing Desy joined the project called “Plastic HiFi”. The group gained a lot of respect in the electronic scene and in 1998 released an album, toured around Bulgaria and performed on a same stage with Goldie and Asian Dub Foundation . In 2000 together with former collaborators she established a band called “Phuture Shock” which is one of the most recognized electronic groups in Bulgaria. “Phuture Shock” won The MMTV music awards for the best album in 2002. They have performed together with names such as Stereo MC’s, Jimi Tenor etc.
Desy is working closely with many talented producers. She featured in Deekline & Wizard’s release: “The Sun is Shining” (Botchit & Scarper), Recorded vocals for Ils’s album ‘Bohemia’ (Distinctive Breaks rec.), worked with Plasma dj’s on Craig David’s “Hidden Agenda” remix(back vocals), LBJ ‘Watza Done’,etc. She has played at all the best clubs in Bulgaria including “Club Chervilo”, “Club Escape”, “Yalta” and “MoMo”. Residencies at “FP ”, “Club Cacao”, “Lifehouse” and “Comics”. She has performed alongside Underworld, Freestylers, Krust & Die, Jazzanova, Deekline & Wizard, to name just a few. At the moment she is working on producing her debut solo album, meanwhile working with her performing project Desire.
The way that Desy is combining different styles – from broken beats thru house to break beat and her unique mixing are hard to describe in words, but “a must hear” experience.
